Former Army Private From Fort Irwin in San Bernadino County Charged with Child Exploitation

Posted by Vitaly Sigal | Feb 01, 2024 | 0 Comments

Parker William White, a 23-year-old man from Johnsonville, New York, and former Army private from Fort Irwin in San Bernadino, was charged with five felonies in early November 2023, including one count of production of child pornography, three counts of receipt of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography. He will face a significant prison sentence of almost 40 years if convicted of all charges.

Felony Child Exploitation Charges

White was originally arrested in February 2023 for allegedly using different social media platforms to identify female minors, some as young as 13 years old, to groom into “girlfriends.” The latest indictment from November 2023 accuses White of knowingly inducing a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct so that a visual depiction of such conduct could be produced. The visual depiction was then produced using materials that had been mailed, shipped, and transported in and affected interstate commerce.

That same indictment goes on to allege that White knowingly received child sexual abuse material that had been transported through interstate commerce, including by computer, on three occasions in November 2021 and January 2022.

How an Experienced Criminal Defense Attorney Can Help

Federal child pornography laws are any laws concerning the visual imagery of children under 18 years old in sexual situations that are meant to be sexually stimulating. Thus, visual imagery is only considered child pornography if an ordinary person who is looking at it would reasonably conclude that it is an actual minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

To combat these charges, an experienced criminal defense attorney would build a defense around the defendant's lack of knowledge of intent. If they can show a defendant did not know the child in the visual imagery was a minor, or a reasonable person would not have known they were a minor, they may be able to prove the defendant did not knowingly and willfully receive, produce, or keep child pornography.

Attorney Vitaly Sigal of Sigal Law Group understands how serious these charges are and will work diligently to build a defense that guarantees the best possible outcome for your case. Call 818-325-0570 today or schedule a free consultation online.
